Miss Indian World Pageant
Code of Conduct and General Guidelines Agreement
As a Contestant for the title of Miss Indian World,
You represent yourself, your family, and your Tribe(s).
It would not be in your best interest to conduct yourself in any way that would have an adverse affect on
yourself, your family, your Tribe(s), the Miss Indian World Program or the Gathering of Nations Powwow.
It is very important for you, as a Contestant and an individual, to maintain certain moral standards for yourself
now and in the future. It is mandatory that you and your fellow contestants conduct yourselves above and beyond
reproach. This means that you will refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, smoking in public, profane language,
and/or outbursts of any kind. Unacceptable socializing with a boyfriend (i.e. intimate displays of affection etc)
in public is not allowed. This type of behavior will not be tolerated. Any infringement of these moral standards
will result in disqualification as a Miss Indian World Contestant.
You affirm that you have no dependents (children) or have not had any children. Also, should you be selected
as Miss Indian World, it would not be acceptable to cohabitate with an intimate companion.
You must have a good attitude about yourself before, during, and after the Pageant. You will be required to
respect, cooperate, and participate with fellow contestants, the Miss Indian World Committee, Judges,
Gathering of Nations Powwow staff, the general public, and anyone else you may come in contact with at all
times.
You are expected and required to be in Albuquerque, NM for an Informational Meeting TUESDAY EVENING,
APRIL 22, 2008 at the Host Hotel (Schedule of Activities will be sent).
You must attend Registration the first day of the Pageant, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2008 (Schedule of Events will
be sent). Failure to do so will result in disqualification. It is unfair to Contestants who arrive on time and are ready
for the Pageant.
You must be accompanied by a parent/chaperone who is 25 years or older at Registration WEDNESDAY morning.
Your chaperone may be your mother, aunt, grandmother, or personal acquaintance.
You must sell a minimum of 500 Raffle Tickets to be considered a Miss Indian World Contestant. You are solely responsible for the Raffle Tickets assigned to you. You must turn in any unsold tickets and the money you raised
from your sales at Registration. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.
You are responsible for your personal belongings at all times. The Miss Indian World Committee, The Gathering of Nations, and The University of New Mexico, are not responsible for Contestant’s belongings, loss of articles, theft
or injury.
**************************************************************************************************
I hereby agree and promise to abide by the above Code of Conduct/General Guidelines as a Contestant of the Miss
Indian World Pageant.
I understand that I may be disqualified as a Contestant of the Miss Indian World Pageant if I deviate from the
Conditions outlined above.

one comment:
Hey. The first duty of a leader is to make himself be loved without courting love. To be loved without ‘playing up’ to anyone – even to himself.
I am from Tuvalu and know bad English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: “A good clock can create a focal point in a otherwise bland room.”
Best regards :P, Lloyd.
